The Galleria is delighted to have this opportunity to present the works of consummate artist, Laszlo Kohanecz. This presentation is especially timely for Kohanecz’s is a classical/realist style and appropriately, there is a re-emergence of this style in the art world today. First, however, a few introductory remarks about the artist. Laszlo Kohanecz is an internationally known Hungarian-American artist who was born in 1935 Temerin, Yugoslavia. From his early childhood on he had a craving for art, and although initially employed as a miller, he soon abandoned this trade for his true passion. In 1963 he went to Paris, France to study art. He worked and studied in the art capital of the world with great success until 1969. This invaluable experience provided him the opportunity to develop his exquisite style of painting. His paintings are in numerous private collections throughout Europe. In 1969 he emigrated to Canada, and after a brief stay in this country he emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1970. Laszlo Kohanecz, Artist Biography Click here to view Mr. Kohanecz’s Gallery Shortly after his arrival in the U.S. he was granted permanent residence status as an exceptionally talented artist whose presence would be a unique addition to the artistic culture of the county - this upon the recommendation of the Lowe Art Museum of the University of Miami and the Miami Museum of Modern Art. He has residing in Miami, Florida since 1970. Kohanecz’s paintings have earned him the reputation of being a master in his field. His museum quality paintings have been sold in fine galleries throughout the U.S. and Canada. Moreover, his works can be found in the collections of dozens of serious minded art collectors throughout North America. Kohanecz has received honors and awards too completely list in this brief space (e.g., His painting is on display in the permanent collection of the Lowe Art Museum. He is a select member of the National Museum and Gallery Registration Association; his work was on display in the chambers of the Committee on House Administration, House of Representatives, Washington D.C. (1973), also, in the Museum of Science in Miami (1980); furthermore, he has been featured in many newspaper articles about his work. Finally, his paintings were on exclusive permanent exhibition at “The Gallery of Laszlo” in Hollywood, Florida from 1977 to 1982. The greatest testament to the talent of any artist is, however, his work; in this respect no words need to be wasted here -- Kohanecz’s paintings speak for themselves.
